2011 Audi S4 – Reviewed

I love it when car manufacturers offer a spec’d up version of one of their current models. This is the case of Audi’s S4, a A4 that they give some extra parts to make it faster and more luxurious. But is it worth the extra money? Yes it is.

The 2011 Audi S4 has a 3.0L v6 that has been supercharged from the factory, and a six speed manual transmission. The engine, to me, is the S4’s best leg up over its A4 brother. An A4 of the same year has a 2.0L four cylinder making 120 less horsepower than the s4. The Manual is rare as well, as Audi has since moved towards automatics. To top it all off, the S4 is all wheel drive. Put it all together and the S4 is one heck of a ride. I wasn’t left asking for more power in any corner of the power band.

The interior is just as impressive as the power train. Comfortable is an understatement when it comes to the S4’s interior. There aren’t any breathtaking features in the S4. You get a good infotainment center, power seats, and a sunroof. The seats are comfortable, like your home bed after a twelve-hour shift. I would love to take this car on a long cruise at night. Drive it into the city with the windows up, AC on, so nothing but the neon colors of the passing signs infiltrates the cabin of the car. But that’s just me.

The Audi S4 left me upset. Upset that I didn’t have one in my driveway at home. The S4 is an amazing package, and an all-around great car. I would buy one in a heartbeat, because every once in a while you’ve got to treat yourself.
